Present: Supervisor Jones, Treasurer Kobiljak, Trustees Neal, Raithel, Will and Wojewodzic and Township Manager Dale Reaume, Deputy Clerk Bennett and Airport Manager Jon Stout

Absent: Clerk O'Connor

Supervisor Jones opened the special meeting at 7:33 a.m.

1. Bid opening for Airport Hangar Site Construction
2. Approval of payment of the water-main installation billing from Lorton Construction
3. Approval of the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund Grant Application

ACTION ITEMS

1. 01-130
   Moved Neal, second Raithel, due to the receipt of a single bid for the Airport Hangar Site Construction Project, to open and receive into the record the bid from J.G. Morris Company, of Flat Rock, Michigan, in the amount of $213,846.00 with an alternate #1 bid amount of $114,889.00, and further to authorize the Airport Manager to review said bid. All aye. Motion carried.

   Moved Raithel, second Neal, to approve progress payment # 1 in the amount of $228,965.40 to Lorton Construction Company for the Seaway Aviation and Industrial Park Water Main Replacement Project. All aye. Motion carried.
3. 01-132
   Moved by Kobiljak, second Raithel, WHEREAS, Part 19, Natural Resources Trust Fund, of the Natural Resource and Environmental Protection Act, Act 451 of the Public Acts of 1994, establishes the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund which provides for acquisition and development of lands for public recreation purposes; and,
   WHEREAS, the Township of Grosse Ile desires to acquire lands for public recreational purposes; and,
   WHEREAS, the Township of Grosse Ile agrees to provide a $1 million match utilizing voter approved open space millage; and,
   WHEREAS, the Township of Grosse Ile, if unsuccessful in obtaining additional matching funds, will provide additional funds necessary to fund said project; and,
   WHEREAS, the aforementioned unit of government agrees to be solely responsible for the operation and maintenance of the property as set forth in said Agreement.
   
   NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Township of Grosse Ile grants approval to submit a grant application to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (MDNR) for land acquisition for the Detroit River Nature Preserve.
