Grosse Ile Parent and Teacher Association, Inc.

The Grosse Ile Parent and Teacher Association (P.A.T.) incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1994.  The association was organized to promote the welfare and education of elementary-age children in the community through support of the Grosse Ile Township elementary schools.  P.A.T. seeks to develop, between educators and the general public, such united efforts as will secure for every child the highest advantages in physical, mental, social and spiritual education.

In 2004, P.A.T. reorganized as a Booster Club organization.  Through various levels of membership offerings, P.A.T. was able to discard the traditional notion of fundraising (through sales of pizza kits, cookie dough and gift wrap) in favor of family and corporate sponsorships.  Not having to “sell” things has been a win-win for both our parents and our schools.

P.A.T. is instrumental in providing enrichment programs for the students, covering such diverse topics as music, science, performing arts and health/social education.  As well, P.A.T. has been able to contribute directly to the curriculum needs of our elementary schools and individual classrooms.  The organization facilitates communication between the school and home through a newsletter and general membership meetings.

The activities of P.A.T. are financed through yearly membership fees/donations, and membership is open to anyone who subscribes to the objectives and basic policies of the organization.  For additional information, or to become a member, please check out P.A.T.’s website at www.gischools.org
