THE SUPERVISOR’S E UPDATE SEPTEMBER 23, 2005

Grosse Ile Township Supervisor
Grosse Ile Parkway County Bridge Update
I am continuing to work with the state and county on the rehabilitation
of the Grosse Ile County Bridge. Investigation of the funding for the
remediation project is ongoing. Through Wayne County, in May 2005 an application
was submitted to MDOT’s Local Bridge Program for the necessary repairs
of the county bridge. This program will fund 95% of the project with the
remaining 5% and the costs of design and construction engineering to come
from Wayne County. We are hoping for a reply soon. Grosse Ile residents
have been more than patient with the condition of the bridge and hopefully
a resolution will be forthcoming.
