DTE Overhead Line Work on Grosse Ile

DTE has notified Grosse Ile Township that within the next one to two months, a contractor will be hired to start construction on $2.3 million of improvements to the overhead lines on Grosse Ile. These improvements will be in addition to the work currently underway and will likely last throughout 2006. This is certainly good news for those island residents that have been experiencing electrical outages in the past.

View from island home: Priceless

Follow the link to an article recently published in the Detroit News on January 20, 2006. It explains why the current owners, Sid and Cynthia Ramnarace, bought their home on Grosse Ile back in 2000. Many, many islanders can relate to the Ramnarace’s feelings about the community, the neighborhoods and the tranquility of living on Grosse Ile.
